Manager checklists

A structured checklist at each stage, instead of guessing.

Bloome gives managers a neurodiversity-aware checklist at each stage of a new hire's first 90 days — short, imperative, actionable items a manager actually ticks off, not a paragraph to interpret.

Worked example

One checklist, four stages.

Week 1–2

Starting well

  • Confirm the communication preferences and adjustments agreed in the offer, before day one
  • Share the first-week schedule in writing, not verbally on the day
  • Introduce the onboarding buddy
  • Ask, don't assume: what does a productive day look like for this person?
  • Check in at the end of week one on workspace, pace and communication
Day 30

Mid-point check-in

  • Give written feedback on the first piece of work, separate from general praise
  • Re-confirm agreed adjustments are still working, rather than assuming they are
  • Ask what's helping and what's getting in the way
  • Agree three personal 'good day' success signals together
Day 60

Taking ownership

  • Hand over a scoped, independent piece of ownership
  • Set a fixed day and time for a recurring feedback loop
  • Review any adjustment at day 60 — keep, change or drop
  • Ask what's getting in the way before assuming more oversight is needed
Day 90

Close-out and ongoing goals

  • Let the employee lead the close-out review, then follow up in writing
  • Confirm which adjustments carry on past day 90
  • Convert the 30/60/90 plan into ongoing goals together
  • Agree the next check-in cadence beyond day 90
Not generic

Written against this person's own 30/60/90 plan.

The checklist isn't a generic template — each item is written against the milestones and personal adjustments already set out in the new hire's 30/60/90 plan, so the manager is always acting on the plan for this specific person.

No rip-and-replace

Sits alongside the ATS and HRIS.

The checklist doesn't replace the ATS or HRIS your team already runs — it sits alongside them, picking up details already captured in the offer and carrying them through to the manager at each stage.

Give every manager this checklist.
